Yea!! I am back teaching. If your group is 6 hours or less driving time from Grand Junction CO I would love to do a classes and/or lecture for you.
I am teaching locally at the Quilter’s Corner Quilt Shop here in Grand Junction. If you are going to be in the area check my schedule or contact me for my teaching dates at the shop. There is lots of outdoor activities for the Guys. Bring a group and we will provide you with lots of fun things to do.
All of the needle-turn appliqué techniques taught in my applique classes can be found in our book The New Appliqué Sampler or in our DVD, Learn to Applique the Piece O' Cake Way. If you are a student looking for supplies for class, you will find them in the Notions, Books and Patterns areas of our web site. Click below to jump to specific topics:
Learn needle turn appliqué the Piece O’ Cake Way! You will learn our easy template making, how to make and use a placement overlay, and most importantly, the invisible appliqué stitch. I will work with each student to perfect their invisible applique stitch while working on the techniques in their project. I use a camcorder and projector in class while demonstrating the techniques. There is no bad seat in the class.

Coloring a Beautiful Quilt – 1 hour
In a simplified approach to color and scale, I will share with you the simple way that I choose the fabrics that define my quilts. I will use a variety of quilts, fabric, and power point presentation to illustrate the way I choose color. I will show my first quilts and the growth I have made along the way.
It’s Not a Quilt ‘til it’s Quilted
You’ve made a beautiful top, but how do you decide how to quilt it? I will share with you what I have learned (both good and bad) from quilting my own quilts. At the end of the lecture I will tell you my top tips for making machine quilting easier.
A History of Piece O’ Cake Designs, Trunk Show – 1 Hour
I show 50 quilts in this presentation, I discuss how Piece O’ Cake Designs began and the steps that have brought us to where we are today. I will use many of our quilts to illustrate the steps along the way.
Top Tips for Machine Quiting – 30 minutes
I will show my tips for making machine quilting easier. I will also show you a quicker way to baste your quilt that allows you more freedom while machine quilting.
1 hour $400.00
30 minutes $200.00
$650.00 with a maximum of 20 students. Additional students $30.00 each by permission of instructor.
Please note: I limit the number of students in my classes so that I can spend time with each one on an individual basis. In certain situations it is possible to have more students, but this limits the one on one time with each student.
Due to an injured shoulder I am only taking engagements 6 hour or less from my home in Grand Junction. It is necessary that my husband comes with me to do the lifting and driving.
The prices listed above are subject to change each year until a contract is signed.
I use a digital camera and projector in my classes. The image of what my hands are doing is projected onto a screen or white wall. This allows each student to clearly see the techniques that I am demonstrating. My students love it!
For workshop & lecture I’ll need 2 or 3 tables for quilts and sale items. A suitable table to set the projector and laptop computer on. It’s best to have a reflective screen for lectures. If you meet during the day, be sure that you can darken the class and/or lecture room. If you have quilt racks I will be happy to hang 1-3 quilts.

I just took the How do You Do that course with Linda. I can honestly say it was the best quilting course I have ever taken!!! She made it a lot of fun, was very helpful and now I can’t wait to get to my appliqué. — Lori S
The way you teach is a joy. Never have I gotten so much from a class. You made sure everyone of us got personal attention. — Eileen M
Dear Linda: I was lucky enough to attend one of your classes. You are such a good teacher. I am not a appliqué person – more a stripper! But after your class I have started to enjoy appliqué. Thank you for opening a new world to me. — Denise
