About Piece O' Cake

We (Linda Jenkins & Becky Goldsmith) met at a meeting of the Green Country Quilter's Guild in Tulsa, OK, in 1986. Linda (on the right) had just sold the beauty shop that she had owned for 20 years and was ready to quilt seriously. Becky was new to Tulsa and fresh out of her first quilting class. We both became very active in Guild activities and over the years became very good friends. For those of you who would like to make more quilting friends, go to a Guild meeting and raise your hand when volunteers are asked for. You never know when you will make a friend for life!

Piece O' Cake Designs has grown in leaps and bounds from that first block to include many books, blocks of the month, and new quilt patterns. And we're always busy designing even more new and exciting quilts. We hope you enjoy them!

About Becky Goldsmith

I was born and raised in Oklahoma City. My husband, Steve, and I met at the University of Oklahoma. We married in 1978, at the end of our senior year at OU when we each completed our degrees, mine in interior design and his in zoology. He went on to obtain a Ph.D. in Zoology at Arizona State University. His career has taken us to Tempe, AZ, Tulsa, OK, and most recently to Sherman, TX, where he is currently chair of the Biology Department. Luckily, I can make quilts anywhere!

Our boys, Chris and Jeff were born while Steve was in graduate school. I discovered quilting when the boys were young and needed comforters for their bunk beds. I have not put my needle down since!

I met Linda Jenkins, my partner in Piece O’ Cake Designs, not long after I started quilting at a meeting of the Green Country Quilters’ Guild in Tulsa. We’ve been friends ever since. We started Piece O' Cake in 1994. I could not ask for a better partner.

Making quilts is interesting, fulfilling, and challenging. Being an author, teacher, and running a web-based business is exhilarating. This is not what I thought I would be doing with my life when I graduated from college. This is so much better!
