Ball Point Awl with Maple Handle
This sewing tool is handy when your fingers are too big! Use it to guide fabric into your sewing machine, to help turn fabric edges when using glue, and you can use it as a seam ripper! Insert the the smooth tip into every 4th or 5th stitch and slide it down the shaft of the awl until the thread pops. It's fast and easy and it works! The hand-turned maple handle feels marvelous in your hand!
I like this tool better than a stiletto because of it's rounded point that doesn't catch on the fabric. The thickness of the base of the awl, along with the grooves, makes it easier to control.
Look in Other Cool Notions to find all 3 of the awls in the video.
