Tulip Embroidery Needles – size 7
This needle feels nice in my hand. It is similar in length to a straw needle, but it is thicker and it has a bigger, longer eye. I tend to pick this needle up when I'm appliqueing wool because of the two needle threaders that work with it. I haven't tried using this needle for 'appliqueing with attittude' but I think it would work for that as well. (If you don't know about appliqueing with attitude, click here and scroll down. You will see links to videos that explain it.)
- You can use the Easy Threader by Bohin—be sure to use the big hole side!—with wool thread from In The Patch and Aurifil.
- You can also use the hand-held Clover Embroidery Threader, especially when you want to sew with heavier threads like perle cotton in size 16, size 12, and sometimes 8.
