Any day is a good day to make quilts!

Linda & Becky

Piece O' Cake Designs is a company specializing in quilt books and patterns. We are especially known for our applique designs.

We, Becky Goldsmith and Linda Jenkins, own and operate Piece O' Cake Designs, Inc.

Our books and patterns can be found in a variety of places: at your local quilt shop, on many quilting websites, from our publisher C&T, at many book stores, and right here on our website!

Have you been reading our blog?

If so, you've read about the trip we took to Hawaii. It wasn't all fun - we did some work too. Some of the things we saw (like this saffron finch) could turn up in our quilts!

We talk about color, design, quilting, and what's going on in our lives on the blog. We hope you join us there!

There is a link in the menu bar on each page of our site (including this page) to our blog.

Don't miss Show & Tell!

Where we show your quilts!

This is Debbie's version of Aunt Millie's Garden.

A note about secure shopping:

Ours is a secure site using Yahoo's shopping cart technology. When you begin the check out process look at the page address at the top of the page. It should begin "https://... That "s" indicates a secure page. You may also have a "locked" lock icon on the bottom of that page.

Excerpted from a recent email:

I have started several different applique projects, only to get stymied from a lack of concise instructions, then up up quitting on the project, UNTIL I ordered one of your books!!! I find your instructions to be so complete, and without ever having taken an applique class, I now have 10 blocks finished from you Spring Spectacular quilt, and am thrilled with the outcome.

I sing your praises to all my friends, and have ordered many books for them. Just thought I'd pass on to you my praises and gratitude! I now have at least 5 of your books.

Thank you,

Karen M.

Winners!

We had 1409 entrants into our contest. Becky consulted the Random Number Generator to choose the winners.

Number 361 and the winner of the quilt is Judy M. Congratulations, Judy!

Number 813, Sue B., is the winner of the one-pound bag of strips. Sue, we hope you have lots of fun sewing with them!

Thank you all for taking part in this weekend of fun!

We still have two books on sale...

Amish-inspired Quilts and Quilts with a Spin are two of our favorite books, and we are sad to say that they are going out of print. We are able to offer the last of our stock to you for less than half price! Get them before they're gone!

There is a fabric kit available for Simply Color. Click here for more on that.

We have new tags!

What is a tag, you ask? These are cute little tags like you would find in a garment, made for quilts and other fabric projects. Both cute and inexpensive, you really do need some! Click here to find them.

Becky finished her challenge quilt for the World Series of Quilting!

This original 16" x 16" quilt, along with 7 other quilts, will be auctioned off in November by the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative. Proceeds go to fund Alzheimer's research. You can read about this event on our blog. Here's a link to this post, but click around and you'll find more.

The seven other quiltmakers are: Hollis Chatelain, Sue Nickels, John Flynn, Caryl Bryer Fallert, Judy Mathieson, Mary Sorensen, and Ricky Tims. Save your pennies (and dollars) and one of these fine quilts could be yours!
