Hand sewing really does take you on a journey where you can relax and unplug from the stresses of everyday life. Hand sewing forces you to slow down and enjoy the process of sewing fabrics together, with your own hands. And you can take your sewing with you anywhere!
5 different hand sewing techniques come together in one lovely quilt: English paper piecing, needleturn applique, wool applique, hand piecing, and hand quilting.
I've written step-by-step instructions that start at the beginning with choosing fabrics and that guide you through each technique. Sewing by hand means that your hands are your 'machine' so I included insight into the best threads, needles, thimbles, marking tools, seam allowances, knots, and more to get you started.
As you make your quilt by hand, you will appreciate the unique dedication of a hand-sewn project. Your patchwork project is sure to be one of your most special and personal quilts to date.
I have tested and selected EPP Specialty Paper for this project in particular. Obviously it's really wonderful for any EPP!
Some of you may remember the Hand Sewing Adventure, a year-long block of the month that started in January, 2019. That project turned into this book. I do so appreciate the quilters that went with me on that journey! You will get to enjoy some of their quilts in the gallery in this book. It is so much fun to see how these quilters colored their own wonderful quilts and it is so nice of them to share them with us.
