It is exceedingly rare to find a whole new needle but Colonial's Tapestry Petites fit the bill! Look at the photo to compare the #24 (longer) with the #26 (shorter). Watch the video to see how they look in my hand.
Colonial's Petite Tapestry needles are short, with big eyes, and a sharp-enough point. I will use both the #24 and the #26 when hand sewing with #12 and #8 pearl cotton. I think they will be good for embroidery, big-stitch hand quilting, and big-stitch applique. Watch the video below to get a sense of sizes.
