Sizzle is a book like none I have written before because it began as an online block of the month for The Quilt Show. TQS is online so I made 22 videos to go with the written instructions. The videos bring the instructions to life and help to ensure successful sewing—and they are all available to you! There are two colorways, Cool and Warm, and each has its own set of cutting instructions. The quilt has a finished size of 70" x 70".
The blocks are sewn on foundation papers to make those pointy-points easier to sew. If you have been scared to try this technique, rest assured that if you can sew on the line and follow instructions, you can do it. FYI: There is more than one way to do foundation paper piecing and yardage is calculated for the technique I used.
Barbara Black tested the pattern and made the quilt. She posted notes and suggestions to go with each block on her blog which was truly helpful! Those posts are still up and she is happy for you to access them. Go to https://bbquiltmaker.blogspot.com/ and type ‘Sizzle’ in the search box (right column, scroll down). While you are there, subscribe to her blog because she writes good posts.
A few tools you'll need and want are Simple Foundations Vellum (71 sheets or 3 packs), Laminating Sheets (2 packs), Apliquick Rods, and a Quilter's Select Glue Pen. I've gathered them here to make life easier, or use this link: https://pieceocake.com/collections/foundation-paper-piecing-tools.
