This limited edition Blackwing 71 - Frank Lloyd Write Legal Pad Set includes one rectangle grid legal pad and one triangle grid legal pad.
Each of the two pads are sewn-bound and perforated. Each includes
- 50 pages of 80 GSM ivory paper
- 1 pad contains grid pages, the other contains triangle pages
- Each legal pad is "ARCH A" meaning a 9x12 size
Frank Lloyd Write used a variety of geometric grids to lay out the floor plans of his Usonian homes: rectangular, hexagonal, circular, and triangular.
In addition to the architectural plans, he used the grids to determine the scale and forms for many aspects of the homes, including the perforated boards that adorn the windows and laylights. In this way, Wright could be sure that all elements of the building would be in harmony with each other.
