This is a lovely, long needle to use for thread basting. The point is sharp and the eye is easy to thread.
I also use the Tulip Basting Needle which is a little shorter, stouter, and has a sharper point. It's nice to have both needles on hand so that I can choose the one best suited to the basting job at hand.
