The blades are made from carbon/stainless steel and will hold a sharper edge for years. They are extremely precise. The blades whisper as they move against each other. I use this scissor the most in the evening when I am hand sewing.
This scissor is serrated, which means that one blade is smooth and the other has little serrations that control the fabric as you cut. Email me (becky.pieceocake@gmail.com) if you would like a pair with smooth blades — they are a little less expensive.
