I'm teaching two sessions—in person!—at Empty Spools Seminars in March. I would love to see your smiling face in class 😊.

Session 1, March 2-7, 2025—Photo to Fabric: Hand Sew a Collage

Create a fabric collage that has texture and vitality and is sewn by hand, using practical hand sewing techniques. Learn how to turn any photo into a full-size drawing on paper, how to make and use templates for a more precise image, OR learn how to take an improvisational approach to make less structured image. Once the pattern is set, you will color it with fabrics that bring your drawing to life.

Session 2, March 7-12, 2025—Choose Your Own Adventure: An Independent Study 

Give yourself the gift of time to sew! Your project can be pieced or appliqued, traditional or improvisational, geometric or pictorial, sewn by machine or by hand. You are free to use any pattern, by any designer.

This is your time to work on a new or in-progress project in a beautiful setting without interruption from the outside world. I will be there to help, when you want help. It is energizing to be in a room full of happy people, working creatively.
